Maria (Arroyo-Crespo) Olivo

It is with sadness, love and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of a beloved spouse, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Maria (Arroyo-Crespo) Olivo, 70 of Providence who passed away peacefully on March 12th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Puerto Rico on June 25 th , 1954, she was a cherished daughter of Victor Arroyo and Gregoria Crespo. She is survived by her spouse of over fifty years, Jose Olivo and is also survived by her children, Jose Olivo and Catherine Olivo both of Providence. She leaves behind one sister, Blanco Olivo along with seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves her precious fur babies, Cuca, Maya and Kitty.

Maria was a devoted spouse and mother, deeply devoted to her family, she leaves behind a legacy of love, caring and family values. The love she had for her family was immeasurable. She would often have huge family gatherings and cookouts at her home with two grills grilling up her favorite foods. She loved to laugh and spend precious time with her family enjoying road trips, shopping or trying out one of her new and unique recipes from the Food Network channel. She especially loved spending time at the beach, Goddard Park was her favorite. Adventurous and funny with an independent spirit her presence in our family will be truly missed.

Before retiring, she dedicated many years of her life to serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant at various health care facilities throughout Rhode Island. She was known for her dedication and unwavering commitment to caring for others. Her compassion and kindness brought comfort to many during their most difficult hours throughout her
professional years. Her sense of humor, her kind and loving ways along with her compassion and empathy for others will be sorely missed. May she rest in eternal peace until we meet again.

Visitation for Maria will be held in the Berarducci Funeral Home, 26 Grove St Providence on Wednesday March 19th, 2025. From 5-7 pm Burial will be private.

Con tristeza, amor y profunda gratitud anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestra querida esposa, madre, hermana, abuela y bisabuela, María (Arroyo-Crespo) Olivo, de 70 años y residente de Providence, quien falleció en paz el 12 de marzo rodeada de su amorosa familia. Nacida en Puerto Rico el 25 de junio de 1954, fue la querida hija de Víctor Arroyo y Gregoria Crespo. Le sobreviven su esposo de más de cincuenta años, José Olivo, y sus hijos, José Olivo y Catherine Olivo, ambos residentes de Providence. Deja a su hermana, Blanco Olivo, junto con siete nietos y cinco bisnietos. También deja a sus queridas mascotas: Cuca, Maya y Kitty.

María fue una esposa y madre devota, profundamente dedicada a su familia, y deja un legado de amor, cariño y valores familiares. El amor que sentía por su familia era inconmensurable. Solía ​​celebrar grandes reuniones familiares y barbacoas en su casa con dos parrillas donde preparaba sus comidas favoritas. Le encantaba reír y pasar tiempo valioso con su familia, disfrutando de viajes por carretera, de compras o probando alguna de sus nuevas y únicas recetas del canal Food Network. Le encantaba especialmente pasar tiempo en la playa; Goddard Park era su favorito. Aventurera, divertida y con un espíritu independiente, extrañaremos mucho su
presencia en nuestra familia.

Antes de jubilarse, dedicó muchos años de su vida a servir como Auxiliar de Enfermería Certificada en varios centros de salud de Rhode Island. Era conocida por su dedicación y compromiso inquebrantable con el cuidado de los demás. Su compasión y bondad brindaron consuelo a muchos en los momentos más difíciles de su carrera. Extrañaremos profundamente su sentido del humor, su amabilidad y cariño, junto con su compasión y empatía por los demás. Que descanse en paz eterna hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar.

El velatorio de María se llevará a cabo en la Funeraria Berarducci, 26 Grove St, Providence, el miércoles 19 de marzo de 2025. De 17:00 a 19:00 h. El entierro será privado.
