Jillian E. Powers

Jillian E. Powers, 38, of Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Born in Providence, Jillian was the beautiful and beloved wife of Michael (Nelson) Proulx and devoted mother to Nelson Proulx. She was a loving sister to Jeremy Benevides and a dedicated sister to Joshua Powers. Jillian was a proud aunt to Joel, Jenna, Jaisy, and Carter Benevides; a cherished Godmother to Daizohn DeLeon, Lorenzo Marsella, and Juliet Carla Maldonado. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jillian also loved her cats, Melody and Remi. She is predeceased by her mother, Lisa Mathieu; stepfather, Robert Mathieu; father, Charles Powers; Nana, Judith Benevides; mother-in-law, Linda Guay; and father-in-law, Marcel Proulx. Jillian is survived by her stepfather-in-law, Michael Guay.

Jillian dedicated 17 years as an office and IT coordinator at Reade International, where she was known for her commitment, work ethic, and leadership. She was a passionate advocate for the Autism Foundation and played a key role in organizing the annual Autism Walk in honor of her son, working in partnership with Reade International.

Jillian had a love for the beach, ocean, and swimming, and found joy in dancing, music, and poetry. Her vibrant personality and heart of gold touched everyone she encountered. Jillian had a unique ability to light up any room with her bright smile and infectious laugh, bringing people together and making those around her feel valued and loved. A fierce protector of her loved ones, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, doing anything she could to show them how much they meant to her. She enjoyed Sunday dinners, game nights, and was an avid supporter of the Cincinnati Bengals and absolutely loved Tigger.

Above all, Jillian will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

Visiting hours will be held at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, Friday January 3rd from 4:00pm -8:00 pm. A celebration of her life will be announced shortly and burial will be private.
