Len Cabral, storyteller, wrote:  More than just a tough Irish Kid, Joe Dempsey was generous, kind, funny as shit, and give you a nickname that would stick for a lifetime. Joe was a big part of Providence Inner City Art’s Florentine Faire. From hitting home runs in the North Providence Little League to playing right field for the Met Cafe in a dress. While making friends every step of the way. Captain Joe has sailed into the mist. He will be missed but always remembered. May he Rest in Peace.
Lee Clasper Torch:  We always enjoyed Joe’s spirit and his wonderfully unique, understated character.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
