Karen L. Prevatt Obituary
Karen L. Prevatt, 75, of Riverside, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of William C. Prevatt. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on February 7, 2026.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alpine M. and Cleo L. (Monson) Cumming. Besides her husband, she leaves two children, Christopher C. Prevatt and Megann L. D’Alfonso and her husband Mark, two granddaughters, Ella and Lucy and one brother, Alpine M. Cumming, III. She was the mother of the late Scott E. Prevatt and sister of the late Glen C. Cumming.
Karen was a secretary for various medical groups before she retired. Her family was her world. She loved nothing more than spending time with her granddaughters. She had a great sense of humor, and had a way of turning ordinary moments into something special. She was endlessly thoughtful and selfless, always putting the needs and happiness of others before her own. Her love, warmth, and prescence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
Her funeral service and visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a service to follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Rumford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Church of the Redeemer on 655 Hope Street in Providence would be deeply appreciated.
