Robert A. Corsetti, 79, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16th. He was the former husband of Sandra DiMaio.
Born in Providence, Robert was a son of the late Alberto and Clarina (Cataldo) Corsetti.
Robert began his career with Amtrak and later spent many years as a salesman for Garland Industries, where he built lasting connections through his work.
A graduate of La Salle Academy, Robert was a talented football player whose love of the game continued during his time at the University of Rhode Island, until an injury brought his playing career to an end.
He found great joy in golfing with friends, cheering on URI Athletics, participating in the Fast Break Club, and faithfully supporting his lifelong favorite team, the New York Giants.
Robert will be lovingly remembered by his son, Douglas Corsetti; his brother, Mark Corsetti, and Mark’s wife, Lisa; his two nieces, Haley Corsetti and Jillian Corsetti; and his former wife, Sandra DiMaio.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23rd, from the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 146 Clifford Street, #1, Providence, RI 02903.
