Rosemary McCarthy-Fargnoli, 70, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Joseph G. Fargnoli and the wife of the late Arthur F. McCarthy. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Graham) Brandt. Rosemary was employed as an underwriter and manager at EMC Insurance, retiring in 2018. She previously worked at General Accidental Insurance, now One Beacon Insurance Co. for over 30 years. Her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. For many years she taught confirmation classes at the Assumption Church in Providence. She also volunteered her time in the community. Rosemary was instrumental in the creation of the Mashapaug Pond Park in Providence. She was the devoted mother of John W. McCarthy (wife Tonya) and the loving grandmother of Savannah McCarthy, Logan Philbrick and Alison Philbrick.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Michael Church, 239 Oxford St., Providence. Burial will follow in the RI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting Hours, Tuesday, 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the RI Blood Center, 615 Greenwich Ave., Warwick, RI 02886, will be appreciated.
