He worked his way through law school via Rhode Island Junior College, (now CCRI), before graduating from Boston University in 1974.  He obtained his Law Degree from Rutgers School of Law in 1977.  Along the way, he unloaded trucks, parked cars, worked in a Liquor Store and never gave up on his dream of becoming a lawyer.

Bill was known for his thoughtful nature, strong sense of independence, and deep care for his family. Though private by nature, he maintained close relationships with those he loved and took pride in staying connected throughout his life.

Bill had a generous spirit and a strong belief in giving back. In honor of that commitment, he expressed wishes to support numerous charitable organizations and educational institutions, reflecting causes that were meaningful to him throughout his life.  He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed following all sports and politics and enjoying healthy debates with his friends and relatives.  He had traveled extensively in earlier days and enjoyed researching his genealogy and obtaining an Irish passport in the process.  He loved a good beer, a good meal and sharing stories with his loved ones.
