Joseph Cyprien Benoit Jr., 51, a devoted son, loving father, cherished brother, proud uncle, dear cousin, and beloved friend, passed away on June 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work as a skilled Master Plumber. Joe showed the strength to never give up the fight, and his deep love for family was clear. His life was marked by dedication to his family, pride in his work, and a soft sensitive side that touched the hearts of those who knew him. Joe wasn’t afraid to show his love for his family and friends! He truly LOVED hard!
Joseph was the loving father of Joseph C. Benoit III and Evan Benoit. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Gloria M. (Mendes) Benoit and the late Joseph C. Benoit Sr. Joseph is also survived by his mother, Gloria M. Benoit, his siblings, Donald J. Mendes, Jason P. Benoit and his wife Kerri, and Nicole R. Benoit and her husband Jhoan, and his nieces and nephews, Alexa, Lorenzo, Aria, Cora, and Nico. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Benoit Sr.
Joseph attended Mount Pleasant High School and later continued his education at New England Tech, where he built the foundation for a career he would carry with pride. Joseph became a Master plumber, a milestone that reflected his skill, determination, and commitment to his trade. Through his work, he earned the respect of colleagues and those he served.
Outside of work, Joseph enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. He loved taking funny videos, starting his days off with his favorite Freestyle music blasting in the background, and those facial expressions he’d make. He was also a Yankees fan, although he couldn’t name a single player on the team, and that is why we don’t refer to him as an avid fan (a jab from his kid brother). Though he carried himself with a quiet demeanor, he had a heartfelt way of showing affection and never missed an opportunity to let his loved ones know how much they meant to him. He said, “I Love You” often and he sincerely meant it, and those words will remain a lasting comfort to all who were fortunate enough to hear them.
His family meant the world to him, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Whether gathered for a family day at the beach, relaxing by the pool, or simply enjoying some time with friends who became FAMILY over the years, he found his greatest happiness in being surrounded by the people he loved. His family will remember him for his quiet demeanor, his steady presence, and the way he never hesitated to express his love. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, his mother, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, and all who were blessed to know him.
