Robert T. King, 87, lifelong resident of Providence, passed away Saturday November 8th peacefully in his sleep. He was the son of the late Rosalie (Salvatore) and Thomas J. King
Mr. King completed the Rhode Island School of Design Machine Design Certificate Program as a young man. He received an Associate’s Degree from Roger Williams College for Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. He also attended New England School of Technology for its AutoCad and Applications program. Mr. King went on to spent most of his life in the engineering field working as a talented mechanical designer for various companies in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and nearby Connecticut. He also served his country as a Veteran Reservist of the United States Coast Guard.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Marie King of East Providence and nieces and nephews who reside in Florida. He was the father of the late James R. King, and brother of the late James A. King and Thomas J. King.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday November 14th at 10:00 am at St Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
