Vivian Eunice “Bibby” (Hammond) Moore

Vivian E. “Bibby” (Hammond) Moore, 94, passed away on
Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida. Born on
September 17, 1930, in Providence, RI. The 7th of 8 children,
Vivian was born to her beloved late parents, Vivian (Jackson)
Hammond, and George Swain Hammond. Vivian was married to
the late Russell Godrey Moore, Sr: this union produced 2
beautiful children, Toni and Bubba.
Vivian was a lifelong resident of the East Side of Providence,
Rhode Island. Vivian attended the Olney Street Baptist Church
since her childhood and served as a deaconess and a member of
the Carrie Mabry Circle.
Vivian worked at Bulova Watch, in Warwick, RI and retired from
Texas Instruments in Attleboro, Ma. In retirement, she served as
a bus monitor for First Student Bus Company, and then as a
Foster Grandparent. Vivian was also an avid bowler, card
player, and traveler.
Vivian leaves her son Russell G. Moore, Jr. (“Bubba), and his
wife Claudine of Bradenton, Florida. She was predeceased by
her daughter, Toni Oden and leaves her son-in-law Sam Oden,
Sr. of Chicago, Illinois. Vivian is also survived by her 4
grandchildren Tasha, Ayinde, Kenya and Sam, Jr (“Man”), 22
great grandchildren and 5 great grand grandchildren, her
brother Paul B. Hammond, of Milton, Ma., and sister-in-law
Ann Hammond, of East Providence, RI. Additionally, Vivian
was a loving aunt to her nieces, nephews, great nieces and
nephews, great grandnieces, cousins, and dear friends.
Vivian will be remembered for her laugh, quick wit, style, and
free spirit. She will be deeply missed by all.
The viewing for Vivian will be held on Wednesday, December 18,
2024, at Onley Street Baptist Church in Providence, RI, at 10:
00 am, with the funeral following at 11:00 am. Interment will be
at the North Burial Ground in Providence, RI, with a repast to
be announced.
