Dickran “Dick” Palian

Dickran “Dick” Palian, 92, of North Providence, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

Dick was born in Providence, RI to Sahag and Victoria (Chaderdjian) Palian. He was married to his beloved wife, Madeline (Gudoian) Palian for 60 years. Together they created a life filled with love.

After high school, Dick went to work at First National Super Market where he learned how to be a meat cutter, a career that he maintained for 50 years working at Sutton’s IGA and Brigido’s IGA after First National closed. In between, he enlisted in the US Navy serving in the Mediterranean. He was a proud Mason with the Armenian Masonic Degree Team and St. John’s Lodge (Providence) and a parishioner of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church. After retirement, Dick spent many happy years as part of the “kitchen crew” at church. Most importantly, when not working, he would be fixing or making something at home, as he loved to work with his hands building and repairing for anyone that needed help.

In addition to his beloved wife Madeline, he was the devoted father to his children Christina Dolbashian of Cranston, RI and her husband Paul and Richard Palian of Kennebunk, ME and his wife Susan Jones; cherished grandfather to Paul Richard Dolbashian. He was preceded in death by his brother Armen and wife Ethel, sister Susie Selverian and husband Nazareth and sister-in-law Marie. He is survived by his brothers Charlie and Michael and his wife Satenig, as well as many loving nephews and nieces.

His Funeral Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held on Monday, November 25th at 11a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence followed by burial at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
