Renee A. Rezendes, 95 of East Providence, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Waterview Villa Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Julio E. Rezendes.
She was born in Providence, RI. She was the daughter of the late Charles Babbitt and Ethel A-Vant, and the adopted daughter of Frank and Elvira Pina since the age of two years old.
Mrs. Rezendes worked at Citizens Bank as a data processor for 35 years until she retired. She was an avid reader and liked working on her many hobbies. Mrs. Rezendes loved dancing with her friends at the Cape Verdean Progressive Center. She loved learning and reading about her heritage and was also the family historian. Mrs. Rezendes lived life to the fullest, and she traveled across country to California on a bus with some of her grandchildren. She will be missed by all of her family.
She leaves eight children, Edward Rezendes of East Providence, Frank Rezendes of East Providence, Lorraine Rezendes of East Providence, Renee Rezendes of North Providence, Sheila Rezendes of East Providence, Ronald Rezendes of East Providence, Norman Rezendes of East Providence, Pepe Rezendes f Wisconsin, 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 13 great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rezendes was one of 14 brothers and sisters. She was the grandmother of the late Frank Michael Rezendes, Abby Rezendes, Darren and Duane Rezendes, and the great-grandmother Erica Hopkins.
Her funeral and calling hours will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, from 8-9 A.M. in the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM in Saint Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will be private.
