Wanda Wright – Cameron
June 11, 1959 – July 27, 2025
Wanda (Blue Bird) Wright – Cameron, born on June 11, 1959, in Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at HopeHealth Hospice Center. She attended Hope High School and graduated in 1977. Wanda dedicated 21 years of her career to Lifespan, dba Brown University Health, before retiring due to illness.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Ethelynne and Robert Wright, Carolyn “Ca” LeCount; her sister, Dawnita Wright-Colbert (Larry Colbert); her brothers, Kenneth Hampton and Jeffrey Pope; her beloved husband, Phillip Cameron; and her sister, Joyce LeCount.
She leaves behind her cherished children, Tenika Wright, Juan Cameron, and Aneesah Cameron, all of Providence, RI. Wanda is also survived by her brothers, Robert “Butch” Wright (Ann Wright), Tony Wright (Marion Wright), Wesley Wright (Susan Dagostino Wright), Mister Wright, Jeffrey Wright (Toni Ellen Weeden-Wright), Gregory Wright, and Jay LeCount, all of Providence, RI; her sisters, Tawny Taylor (Ronald Taylor) and Donna Wright; and her brother, David Wright (Veronica Wacker-Wright), all of Denver, Colorado. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Wanda’s cherished friendship with Biscuit will be fondly remembered.
Wanda was a part of the Pokanoket Tribe/Pokanoket Nation and enjoyed attending tribal meetings when she could. She was a member of the St. Martin de Porres senior center, where she enjoyed playing Bingo, left right center, chair yoga class with cousin Tippy and the cherished friendships she made. She had a deep love for music and concerts, which brought joy and happiness to her life. Her passion for going on cruises with her family, digital painting, digital bingo and online shopping kept her spirits high. She took pleasure in watching her YouTube family and found solace in reading her daily scriptures. Her laughter at the table with her children was infectious, and she had a special gift for making others laugh.
She was known for her kindness, generosity, and no-nonsense attitude. Wanda’s personality could brighten the darkest moments. She had a deep love for her bonus grand and great grandchildren and a special affection for her beloved grand-dog, Shnow Cameron, whom she forever adored.
Wanda’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
