Letters to the Editor – July 15, 2026

Thank you for including the article [I’m Sleeping in A Shelter in Providence. And I Built an App for Folks Seeking Help With Basic Survival Needs.] about accessing social services info. I drove people experiencing homelessness to warming shelters last winter, and access to info for what is open for free breakfast, what is open at 7 a.m. on a Sunday to stay warm, etc. were questions that needed answers that I didn’t have. Thank Robert Diamond for app and article.

[Re: Robert Diamond’s I’m Sleeping in a Shelter in Providence and I Built an App for Folks Seeking Help With Basic Survival Needs]

I’m so happy to see this. This past winter I helped give rides for project NOD (No One Dies) and even as a volunteer I had to work to stay in the loop for when places were open. I’m getting this app right now- very needed and fills a gap that 211 and 311 couldn’t completely fill.

Hello, a dear friend in Providence let me know about the Cheese Club [Want to Build Community? All You Need is Cheese], and we shared the info/your article on the LITTLEFALLSCHEESEFESTIVAL Facebook page! (Alas, we are in central New York State, but, we invite cheeselovers to make the trip for Saturday 10/3. We’re the biggest cheese-themed festival in the Northeast….five long blocks of booths!!)

[Re:FRINGE PVD Is Back with a Week of Creative Risk-taking] Thank you! Always great to hear about the fabulous artists in this state and how the city supports them all. I also saw in the PVDPlaceMall that there are three open store lots that have been generously shared with 50 RI Artists for the summer! This is why I live here. The ARTS show the way forward… and connect us together. Going to FRINGE!
