Little Jobs | Shawndell
Kennedy Plaza
I got a part-time job and everything, and I work at the Shaw’s in Garden City and everything. And, you know, it’s a nice job. It’s a supermarket, I like it. And sometimes, I get stressful, and depression, and everything else, so you know. Not because of the job, because of other things. In general. Sometimes the job helps a lot. So, that way I feel a lil’ bit better. But sometimes, I get to deep down depression and everything, and it’s not that good. And I try not to get myself excited, or worry about other different things that day, you know. Not excited, anxious. If I’m anxious to get the job, or anxious that I didn’t get the job, there’ll be more stress, and deep depression, you know, so. Sometimes my boyfriend, he acts up too. My boyfriend, you know, he’s on drugs and everything, and that’s another stress that I deal with. The job helps me good. I’m CT, I do a lot of cleaning. CT stands for cleaning technician. I get the wagons, a lot of cleaning, doin’ like he does (she points to a man taking out the trash right next to her), getting the garbage and everything, you know. Little jobs, you know.
Bus Stop | Thomas
Kennedy Plaza
I’m waiting for my girlfriend, she’s comin’. I go somewhere, some market. Like a Stop and Shop like that, for grocery shopping. We live together. I’m working part-time at a liquor store. I like it, a little bit. I live in Providence, I’ve been living here for 25 years. I like Providence because… I like it, because, a lot of years I’m living here. It’s comfortable.
